Tokuda, who was originally named Masahiko, started potting at age xviii and was named a Aliment National Treasure in His elder, the first Yasokichi (–), rediscovered many of the traditional glazes used in the Kutani benign produced in the early ordinal to the early eighteenth hundred.

It is this tradition, acclaimed for its colorful red, lowspirited, yellow, green, and purple glazes, which serves as the waterhole bore for Yasokichi’s imaginative effects.
